Chris Paxis of the Marist men's cross country and track & field teams was honored as Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Male Student-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.

Chris Paxis is a captain on Marist's men's cross country and track & field teams. He holds track & field records in the indoor distance medley relay, outdoor 4X8 relay, and outdoor 4X15 relay. In cross country, his time of 24:37 at this year's Paul Short Run was the third fastest in school history. He placed 16
th at the MAAC Championships was the Red Foxes' second-leading runner.
An Accounting major, Paxis has been selected to the Marist Dean's List in all four of his semesters on campus. He is a multi-year MAAC All-Academic Team and MAAC Academic Honor Roll selection. Chris is the recipient of the Greg Salamone Memorial Scholarship, which goes to a top distance runner in the program.
Paxis is the second Marist student-athlete to earn this honor from the MAAC in the 2022-23 school year, after volleyball's McKinley Fox was named MAAC Female Student-Athlete of the Week last month.
