POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team was defeated by Princeton, 62-55, at McCann Arena on Saturday night. The Red Foxes trailed by 20 in the first half and cut that deficit to two in the closing minutes, but ultimately fell by seven.
 

Summary

• Princeton scored the game's first nine points, and jumped out to an 18-2 lead at the 14:22 mark of the first half. Ryan Langborg hit three three-pointers for the Tigers in this run.
• Princeton led by as much as 20 in the first half, but Javon Cooley's three-pointer in the waning seconds cut Marist's deficit to 36-19 going into halftime.
• Noah Harris scored six points in the first five minutes of the second half as Marist cut Princeton's lead to 14.
• Jaden Daughtry's three-pointer at the 14:06 mark brought Princeton's lead down to 11, and led to a Princeton timeout.
• A 9-0 Marist, which included six points from Patrick Gardner, brought the Red Foxes within three with 6:43 left.
• Marist trailed 55-53 following a dunk by Isaiah Brickner with 3:17 left, but the Red Foxes did not get any closer. Princeton went 6-for-6 from the line in the final 35 seconds.

• Gardner led all scorers with 15 points.
• Cooley had 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
• Matt Allocco led Princeton with 14 points.
• Princeton shot 11-for-14 from the free-throw line, while Marist was 5-for-11.
• This was Princeton's second trip to Poughkeepsie, and first since Jan. 6, 2010. The Tigers now lead the all-time series, 4-0.
