Furious Comeback Comes Up Just Short for Men’s Basketball

Red Foxes Slice 20-Point Deficit to Two, But Fall to Princeton

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team was defeated by Princeton, 62-55, at McCann Arena on Saturday night. The Red Foxes trailed by 20 in the first half and cut that deficit to two in the closing minutes, but ultimately fell by seven.
 
Summary
  • Princeton scored the game's first nine points, and jumped out to an 18-2 lead at the 14:22 mark of the first half. Ryan Langborg hit three three-pointers for the Tigers in this run.
  • Princeton led by as much as 20 in the first half, but Javon Cooley's three-pointer in the waning seconds cut Marist's deficit to 36-19 going into halftime.
  • Noah Harris scored six points in the first five minutes of the second half as Marist cut Princeton's lead to 14.
  • Jaden Daughtry's three-pointer at the 14:06 mark brought Princeton's lead down to 11, and led to a Princeton timeout.
  • A 9-0 Marist, which included six points from Patrick Gardner, brought the Red Foxes within three with 6:43 left.
