POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist baseball team will begin their 2022 campaign on Friday afternoon, as the Red Foxes travel to Norfolk, Virginia for a three game series against the Norfolk State Spartans. The team will play one game on Friday beginning at 3 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m., and Sunday at noon.

- The Red Foxes finished with a record of 18-11 overall, and 17-9 in the MAAC.
- Junior shortstop Dylan Hoy led Marist with a batting average of .410, which was second overall in the conference.
- Marist led the conference in team batting average (.313), featuring eight hitters above .300.Â
- Brian Hart and Robbie Armitage both homered five times, and Niko Amory added four homeruns.Â
- The pitching staff finished third in the MAAC in earned run average (4.05), while holding opponent hitters to a batting average of .251.
- Marist was picked to finish fourth in the conference in the MAAC Preseason Poll.
- Brian Hart (OF) and Dylan Hoy (IF) were named to the Preseason All-MAAC team.Â
- Hart was the lone Red Fox named to the PerfectGame.org's MAAC Preseason All-Conference team.
- The Spartans finished with an overall record of 25-28, and 18-10 in the MEACÂ (first place).
- The team went on to win the MEAC tournament, granting them a bid to the NCAA Greenville Regional where the team suffered losses to East Carolina and Maryland.Â
- Norfolk State was picked to finish first in the MEAC Preseason Poll.
- Pitcher James Deloatch was voted the MEAC Preseason Pitcher of the Year, and was joined by two other Spartans on the Preseason All-MEAC team.
- Following their weekend series against Norfolk State, the Red Foxes will head to Greenville, South Carolina.
- In Greenville, Marist will face off against Notre Dame on Friday, Wofford on Saturday, and Notre Dame again on Sunday. Times for the games are 4 p.m., 11 a.m., and noon, respectively.Â
