HEMPSTEAD, New York - The Marist women's tennis team defeated on the road against Hofstra. The Red Foxes fell on Sunday afternoon, 4-2. 
 

DOUBLES

• Hofstra secured the doubles point with wins in the third and second position. 
• In the second position, Ellen Zureick and Andrianna Zaphiris were defeated by Hofstra, 6-3. 
• Lea Lambert and Akanksha Sreenivas fell in the third position to Kayla Solagnier and Ananyaa Bhargava. 

 

SINGLES

• Deana Giambo won in the first position against Hofstra, 6-2, 6-3. 
• Teammate Jane Bockman defeated Hofstra in the second position in three sets, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2. 
• Hofstra secured the dual match win with wins in the third fourth and sixth position.

• "The women gave an outstanding effort, headlined by our wins at #1 singles by Deana and at  # 2 singles by Jane.  Ellen played superb at 3 in defeat, and we competed very well at 4,5 and 6.  This was a very tough road venue, and I am very pleased with the effort," said Director of Tennis Gary Sussman.
