BETHELHAM, Pennsylvania - Marist women's tennis was defeated in its season opener on Saturday, February 5^th in a dual matchup against Lehigh, 4-3. The Red Foxes record falls to 0-1 overall and Lehigh's record is now 1-0 overall.
 

Doubles

• Marist started the match with a doubles win in the third position, followed by a loss in the first position, with a win in the second position, the Red Foxes secured the doubles point.  
• Ellen Zureick and Andrianna Zaphiris captured Marist's first win in doubles in the third position, 6-1.
• In the first position, Deana Giambo and Jane Bockman came up short against Rider's doubles pair, 6-3.
• Vanessa Ciano and Lea Lambert secured the final doubles win in the second position, 7-5, for Marist to top Lehigh in doubles.

 

Single

• The teams kicked off singles collecting a win a piece in the third and first position, Lehigh battled back and picked up wins at the second and fourth spot to take a 3-2 lead. The Red Foxes evened the score at the sixth position before Lehigh clinched the match at five.
• Deana Giambo won in the first position against Junmoke James, 6-1,6-4.
• Andrianna Zaphiris beat Lehigh in the sixth position, 6-3, 6-0.
