The Red Foxes Play Three Games in Annapolis, Maryland

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist baseball team travels to Annapolis, Maryland this weekend for three games, two against Navy and one against Delaware State. The Red Foxes will play Navy in a double header on Friday and face Delaware State on Sunday.  
 
Schedule
  • Double-header @ Navy – Friday, March 11th. First game starts at 2:00pm and the second game starts at approximately at 4:30 pm. 
  • No games Saturday.  
  • Vs. Delaware State (Neutral site) – Sunday, March 13th @ noon.  
Scouting Navy
  • Marist is 0-1 against Navy all-time. Their only matchup came in March of 2017 and fell in favor of Navy 2-3.  
  • Navy is 6-4 on the year so far, winning games against UMBC, Air Force, George Mason, and Central Connecticut. 
  • Navy is batting .252 as a team with seven total home runs and an on-base percentage of .383.  
  • Hudson Lehnertz leads the team with a batting average of .412. Alex Smith and Colin Smith share the homerun lead, both knocking two out of the park this season.  
  • Navy has a team ERA of 5.65 and allow opponents a .257 batting average.  
  • Nate Mitchell has yet to give up a run through 6.1 innings pitched.  
Scouting Delaware State
  • Marist is 7-2 against Delaware State, dating back to their first matchup in 2011. Marist won the first seven games against Delaware State and has since lost two in a row.  
  • The last game between the two finished in five innings with a score of 1-3 in favor of the Hornets. 
  • The Hornets are 2-5 on the year, with their wins both coming against Lehigh University.  
  • Delaware State is batting .272 as a team with three home runs and a .386 on-base percentage.  
  • Sophomore Trey Paige is leading the team with a .462 batting average, a 1.279 OPS, and seven RBIs.  
  • The Hornets team ERA is 7.20. 
Up Next
Following this weekend, Marist plays a three-game series against Fordham, which includes their first home game of the year. Those games begin Friday, March 18th in New York, New York.
