Baseball Comes Up Short Against Yale

A Three-Run Seventh Inning Secured the Win for the Bulldogs

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut – The Marist baseball team was defeated by Yale on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 4-3.

 
Summary
  • Yale scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning.
  • Reece Armitage began the top of the second with a walk and got himself into scoring position by stealing second and third base.
  • Dylan Hoy connected for a two-RBI single to allow the Red Foxes to take the lead in the top of the second.
  • In the top of the fourth inning, Armitage added another run to the scoreboard with a solo homer, making the score 3-1.
  • The Bulldogs tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning from a two RBI single Tommy Martin. The go-ahead run was scored from an AJ Gaich single to left field, to give Yale the lead 4-3.

  • Dylan Hoy went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
  • Reece Armitage went 1-for-2 with a solo homer and two runs scored.
