Women’s Lacrosse Defeats Merrimack in Thrilling OT Matchup

The Red Foxes Win with a Final Score of 16-15

NORTH ANDOVER, MA—The Marist Women's Lacrosse team earned their second win of the season with a 16-15 score over Merrimack on Sunday Afternoon.
 
Summary
  • Olivia Arntsen opened the non-conference match up with the first goal at 13:44.
  • Shortly after, Merrimack responded with a goal at 13:26, to tie it 1-1.
  • When the clock reached 7:29, Melissa Bucher scored to give Marist the 2-1 lead.

  • Alex Di Chiara cut it down to 13-12 with a goal at 10:01, then again at 7:50 to tie it at 13-13.
  • Melissa Bucher scored at 4:44 to give the Red Foxes the lead with 14-13.
  • Merrimack responded with a goal at 3:56 to tie it once more at 14-14.
  • The clock dialed down to 2:17 and the Warriors scored once more to regain the lead at 15-14.
  • Olivia Arntsen scored at 1:28 to tie it and make it 15-15 to extend the game to overtime.
 
Overtime
  • After three minutes of overtime, neither team scored.
  • The clock dialed down to 1:56 and sophomore, Hannah Spease scored the final goal to earn the Red Foxes a 16-15 win.
