POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist baseball team finally gets into some MAAC-tion this weekend, hosting Fairfield at McCann Baseball Field for three games. The Red Foxes will play one game Friday (2 p.m.), Saturday (1 p.m.), and Sunday (1 p.m.).

Last Time Out

• Marist won at the University of Hartford by a score of 8-2.
• Jack Keenan earned his first win of the year. 
• Gene Napolitano led the charge for the Red Foxes, with two hits, three runs, and two RBIs.  
• Gavin Noriega and Reece and Robbie Armitage each also had two RBIs.  
• Zane Kmietek, Brian Yetter, Trevor Backman, and Drake Quinn pitched in relief for the Red Foxes, only allowing one run combined.  

 

Scouting Fairfield

• Marist leads the all-time series, 50-18, including a 26-5 home record.
• The last time these teams played was a three-game set in 2019. The Stags took two out of three, but the Red Foxes prevailed in the final game by a score of 11-2.  
• The Stags are 6-11 this year and are coming off three losses to North Dakota State last weekend.  
• Fairfield's wins came against teams including Dartmouth, Florida Gulf Coast, St. Joe's, and Elon.  
• As a team, the Stags are batting .245 with 10 home runs and an on-base percentage of .324.  
• Sophomore outfielder Even Berta leads the team with a .321 batting average.  
• Fairfield's opponents are batting .053 higher and have only been caught stealing five times out of 25 attempts.
