POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's rowing team is headed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to compete in the 2022 Murphy Cup. This event will take place on Saturday, April 2.

• The Red Foxes spent last weekend in San Diego, California, where they competed in the San Diego Crew Classic.

• In their first race on Saturday, the Varsity 8 team consisting of Katie Moody, Summer Starret, Emma Jauch, Natalia Miklos, Gabby Insero, Caroline Voorhis, Ashley Surette, Lauren Muhr and Olivia Nasternak finished their Heat 1 race for the 2,000-meter with a time of 7:31.6, which put them five seconds behind the sixth place team, which was Bates College.

• In their final race on Sunday, the Varsity 8 team strived to have a better pace after the halfway mark, and they were able to achieve that, finishing the race with an improved time of 7:12.04, this time edging out Bates.

• The second Varsity 8 team included Abigail Cieplinski, Avalon Johnson, Elizabeth Kelly, Chrissy Schone, Lydia Giguere, Kassandra Nicholson, Genevieve Anderson, Francesca D'Ugo and Hillary Anderson, and on Saturday, the team finished with a time of 7:37.90, placing them at 7th.

• On Sunday, the 2V team, like the first Varsity team, were able to improve on their previous performance. The team sprinted to a 7:24.2 finishing time.

• This will be the 39th Annual Murphy Cup in its history.

• The event will be in the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

• The Red Foxes will be heading out to Leonia, New Jersey to take part in the St. Joe's Invite. This event will take place all throughout the day on Saturday, April 9.
