POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's basketball team lost an overtime thriller to Manhattan in their final regular season game by a final score of 68-60.Â
- Following a 6-0 run early in the first quarter from Manhattan, triples from Kendall Krick and Siobhan Boylan sparked an 8-0 run from the Red Foxes, who led 12-10 after the first quarter.Â
- Manhattan opened the second quarter with a 6-0 run, but Annabel Ellison put an end to that with a three pointer to bring the Red Foxes to within one point.
- Perta Juric, who had nine early points, started a 17-0 Jaspers run midway through the second quarter to extend the Manhattan lead to 33-15.
- Erin Fox knocked down a three from the wing to end the Jaspers scoring run and make it a 33-20 game at the half.
- Samantha Bailey had two huge threes and a layup early in the third quarter, drawing Marist within 1 with 4:06 left in the quarter.
- Two free throws from Krick extended the Red Foxes 12-0 run and gave them their first lead since the first quarter.
- A three point play from Courtney Warley, followed by a triple from Jade Blagrove gave Manhattan a 44-38 lead going into the fourth quarter.
- A driving layup from Boylan with 8:41 remaining put an end to a 10-0 Jaspers run, but the Red Foxes still trailed 51-40.
- Bailey kept coming through for Marist in clutch moments. This time the junior buried a deep three to make it a 57-53 game with 1:39 left.
- With just under five seconds left in regulation, Kendall Krick tied the game with a deep three, ultimately sending the game to overtime.
- In overtime, Manhattan made a three with one minute remaining to give them a 64-60 lead.
- Free throws would seal the deal for the Jaspers, who held on to win 68-60.Â
- Dee Dee Davis led all scorers with 22Â points on the evening.
- Kendall Krick finished with a career high 21 points, with 5 threes including the shot to send the game to overtime.
- Samantha Bailey (11 points) and Zaria Shazer (10 points) were also in double figures for the Red Foxes.Â
- The Red Foxes shot 22-74 (29.7%) from the field and 12-37 (32.4%) from three.Â
- Manhattan shot 24-67 (35.8%) from the floor and 4-17 (23.5%) from deep.
- With the loss, Marist falls to 8-20 on the season.
- Manhattan improves to 19-10.Â
Marist now travels to Atlantic City looking to win their second straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament championship. The Red Foxes will be the #10 seed and face off with Saint Peter's on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
