Red Foxes Fall to #18 UConn on the Road

HARTFORD, Connecticut – The Marist baseball team was defeated by #18 UConn on Tuesday evening by a final score of 15-4.

Summary
  • After a single from Gene Napolitano and a double from Robbie Armitage, Gavin Noriega roped a triple to the wall to give Marist an early 2-0 lead in the first inning.
  • In the bottom of the second, UConn got back three runs on five hits to take a 3-2 lead.
  • Casey Dana hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third, and David Smith hit a three-run shot in the bottom of the sixth, giving UConn an 11-2 lead. In the bottom of the seventh, Matt Donlan hit a three-run home run to extend the lead to 15-3.
  • Donnie Stone singled up the middle to score Nathan Lincoln in the top of the eighth, cutting the lead to 15-4.
