BUFFALO, New York – After exploding for 13 runs in the third inning, the Marist baseball team took game two from Canisius on Friday, 18-17.

- A two-run home run by Max Grant in the bottom of the first gave Canisius a 2-0 lead early on.
- Still trailing 2-0 in the top of the third, Marist erupted for 13 runs on eight hits, all with two outs. The scoring got started with an RBI single from Reece Armitage to score Donnie Stone. His brother Robbie then doubled, tying the game at two apiece. Gavin Noriega, Donnie Stone, Johnny Decker, and Brian Hart all later singled in the inning.Later on, Reece Armitage got his second hit of the inning, doubling to clear the bases and score three runs.Â
- Two walks and a sacrifice fly from Robbie Armitage added three more runs for the Red Foxes in the fourth inning. In the following inning, Dylan Hoy roped a single to center field to score Hart and extend the lead to 17-2.
- Canisius had a big inning of its own in the bottom of the sixth, hitting five singles, a double, a triple, and a home run en route to a 10-run inning. Entering the seventh inning, the Red Foxes lead, which reached 17-2, was just 17-12.
- Trevor Henneman hit a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth to make it a one-run game.
- With runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth, Drake Quinn forced a ground out to secure the 18-17 win for Marist.
- Candelario picked up his fifth win of the season, going 5.2Â innings and striking out five.Â
- The Red Foxes offense erupted for 18 runs on 14 hits, their most runs scored in a game this season.
- Drake Quinn earned his third save of the season, pitching two shutout innings in relief.
- Reece Armitage led the Red Foxes with three hits, a double, and six RBIs. Hart, Noriega, and Hoy each had two hits as well.Â
- Every Red Fox in the starting lineup recorded a hit on the afternoon.
