POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's lacrosse team fell to the Canisius Golden Griffins in an overtime matchup with a final score of 11-10 on Wednesday afternoon.
 

First Quarter

• It was a scoreless seven minutes until Canisius struck first at 8:34 making it 1-0.
• At 5:44, the Griffs scored to lead 2-0.
• Kelly Trotta scored the first Red Fox goal at 2:04 to cut it to 2-1.

 

Second Quarter

• Alex Di Chiara opened the second quarter with a goal at 12:03 to tie it 2-2.
• Canisius responded at 11:20 to regain the lead at 3-2.
• Trotta recorded her second goal at 6:11 to return to a tied game of 3-3.
• The Griffs scored at 5:17 to make it 4-3.
• With :44 seconds on the clock, Alana Tavares scored to tie it again at 4-4.

 

Third Quarter

 

• At 12:06, Melissa Bucher gave Marist its first lead at 5-4.
• Di Chiara gave the Red Foxes a 6-4 lead with a goal at 10:11.
• Olivia Arntsen continued the momentum with a goal at 9:40 to make it 7-4.
• Canisius scored at 7:19 to make it 7-5, then at 3:22 to cut it to 7-6.
• Arntsen extended the lead to 8-6 with another goal at 1:48 to wrap up the quarter.

Fourth Quarter

• Canisius opened the final quarter with a goal at 12:41 to cut it to 8-7.
• Trotta scored her third goal of the game at 8:56 to extend the lead to 9-7.
• The clock dialed down to 5:39 and Trotta extended the Marist lead to 10-7.
• Canisius responded with a goal at 4:17 (10-8), then 3:10 to cut it to 10-9.
• The Griffs tied the game with a goal by Skylar McArthur at 1:19 to make it 10-10 and take the game to overtime. 

Overtime

• McArthur scored again at the 2:16 mark to conclude the game.
