Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Marist men's soccer team took down Howard by a final score of 2-0 on Thursday afternoon, securing their first win of the season. The Red Foxes were led by goals from sophomore
Andre Cutler-DeJesus and senior
Henrique Cruz.

- Marist got a chance on goal with a corner kick in the fifth minute, but weren't able to capitalize.
- In the 21st minute, Richard Morel had a shot on goal, but a save from Benjamin Hoeslii kept the game knotted at zero.
- Andre Cutler-Dejesus was able to find the back of the net in the 36th minute, breaking the tie and scoring Marist's first goal of the season.
- Marist went into halftime with a 1-0 lead over the Bison.
- Howard opened the second half with two corner kicks, but were unable to put a shot on net.
- In the 68th minute, Henrique Cruz netted hit first goal of the season, giving the Red Foxes a 2-0 advantage.
- Marist led Howard in shots (9-3) and shots on goal (7-2).
- The Red Foxes also had the advantage in corner kicks on the afternoon (8-3).Â
- Samuel Ilin, the reigning MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year, posted his first shut-out of the season.
- Skylar Conway, Henrique Cruz, Samuel Ilin, and German Fuentes each played all 90 minutes for the Red Foxes.
"Solid hard fought Division IÂ win in a very difficult environment to play. Howard is much improved from last season and I was glad our guys stuck together and got the deserved result. Happy to be 1-0 and now we will rest up and get ready to travel to Colgate Monday night for another good test."
