POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's soccer defeated Florida Atlantic on Saturday night by a final score of 2-0.
Richard Morel shined for the Red Foxes, scoring both goals in the victory.Â
- FAU opened the game maintaining possession and through thirty minutes, held the lead in shots, 4-2.
- In the 35th minute, Jared Juleau sent a cross through the box to Richard Morel, who found the back of the net to break the tie.
- The goal was the second of the season for Morel, and the second assist for Juleau.
- At the half, Marist led 1-0 over the Owls.
- Just 13 minutes into the second half, Leo Keller ran into goalie Samuel Ilin, resulting in a red card. The Red Foxes played the final 32 minutes with a one man advantage.Â
- In the 89th minute, Richard Morel secured the Red Foxes'Â win with another goal.
- Marist held strong, winning 2-0 to remain unbeaten.
- The Red Foxes led in total shots (11-8) and shots on goal (5-4).
- Richard Morel now has three goals in four games, which leads Marist.

"When we wanted to go forward, we were dangerous. We had moments I was happy with and overall we haven't played our best yet, but I guess that's a good thing since we are keeping clean sheets and winning games."
