POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - For the first time this season Sasha van der Merwe of Women's Volleyball was named by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference as the Molten Player of the Week.

In three matches at the URI Invite, Sasha van der Merwe averaged 5.00 kills and 2.09 digs per set. Van der Merwe recorded 55 kills for the Red Foxes, hitting .313.With 31 kills against URI,Sasha van der Merwe tied for the second-highest single match total in program history.
