Men's Soccer Begins Conference Play

Red Foxes Come into Match at 4-2-1

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist men's soccer will begin its conference play on Wednesday, Sept. 28 against Saint Peter's. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. at Tenney Stadium when the Red Foxes host to the Peacocks. The Red Foxes are hoping to see a win this year as they were defeated last fall 2-1. 

Marist will then play at Iona on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
Last Time Out
  • The Red Foxes fell short to Cornell with a final score of 1-0.
  • Samuel Ilin made a crucial dive to save a penalty kick and keep the game at 0-0 in the beginning of the first half.
  • Jared Juleau kicked the ball just over the top of the crossbar with 10 minutes left in the first half, while Liam Salmon attempted a wide left shortly after.
  • Marist was able to win a free kick right outside the box towards the end of the first half as Henrique Cruz strived to fire a bottom right shot. Cornell jumped to save the ball, keeping the score tied at 0-0 after the first half.

Scouting Iona
  • The Gaels hold the advantage over the Red Foxes 9-8. 
  • The last matchup between the teams, Iona defeated Marist by a score of 3-2.

  • Camil Azzam Ruiz and Sergio Gonzalez Fernandez lead the Gaels with two goals each. 
  • Juan Alfaro Monge had started and played every minute in goal, tallying 17 saves.
