POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's and women's cross country teams started their season on Saturday morning at the Marist Season Opener. Following the meet, seniors from the cross country and track and field teams were honored alongside family, friends, and their teammates.
The Red Foxes shined, finishing the meet with a first place finish on the men's side, and a second place finish on the women's side.Â

- The men finished in first place with a score of 24. Iona finished in second (44) and Siena rounded out the top three with a score of 75.
- Ramsey Little placed first overall and broke the Vassar Farms course record with a time of 18:32.6. The previous course record of 18:51.5 was held by Dietrich Mosel from Marist.
- The Red Foxes had three finishers in the top five, including Christopher Paxis (18:59, 2nd place) and Tyler Perry (19:21.9, 4th place).
- Gabe Rodriguez (8th), and Kieran Donnelly (9th) also placed in the top ten for the meet.
- Marist finished second (68 points) and only trailed UConn in the opening meet.
- Freshman Parker O'Brien led the way for the Red Foxes with a time of 18:46.1, good for fifth place.
- Five sophomores finished in the top-30: Adele Alexander (19:21.2, 11th place), Hannah Belleville (19:24.8, 13th place), Tori Mariano (19:44.7, 18th place), Samantha Kehler (19:54.0, 21st place), and Kate Murtagh (20:24.3, 29th place).
- In total, 13 Red Foxes placed within the top-50 in the meet.

- Marist will head north on Saturday, Sept. 10 for the Siena Invitational.
- The meet will begin at 9:45 a.m. and will take place at the Crossings of Colonie.
