POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Marist women's tennis team will start off their Spring season matching up against two strong opponents in St. John's and Fordham. The Red Foxes will head to Queens to play St. John's on Friday at noon and then play Fordham on Sunday with the match beginning at 6 p.m.
 

PRESEASON POLL

• The Marist women's tennis team was picked to finish fifth in the MAAC Coaches' Preseason Poll.
• Marist earned 20 points in the poll, finishing behind Niagara (26 points), Siena (36 points), Fairfield (39 points), and Quinnipiac (49 points).

LAST SEASON

• The Red Foxes finished the 2021-22 season 4-10 overall and 2-4 in MAAC play.

SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S

• St. John's is 0-3 to start their season with losses to Florida Gulf Coast University, University of North Texas, and Dartmouth.
• The Red Foxes are 0-2 against the Red Storm, this will be the third matchup of program history.
• Last spring, St. John's finished with an overall record of 18-6, with a 7-0 conference record.
• The Red Storm made it to the Big East Semifinals but fell to DePaul with a close score of 4-2.

SCOUTING FORDHAM

• Fordham began their season this past Saturday with a loss to Drexel.
• The Red Foxes are 1-6 against the Rams, with the most recent matchup being last season.
• The Rams finished last spring with an overall record of 14-5, falling to VCU in the Atlantic 10 Championship Final.
