POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist volleyball team looks to for its sixth straight win as the Red Foxes take on the Saint Peter's Peacocks on Wednesday, Oct. 11. First serve at McCann Arena is set for 7 p.m.

- The Red Foxes are coming off a successful weekend, taking down two in-conference opponents, beating Iona in a five-set thriller on Friday along with a three-set sweep over Manhattan on Saturday.
- In the two matches, Jordan Newblatt averaged 5.00 points and 3.88 kills per set. Newblatt had her first 20-20 match of the season against Iona (22 kills, 20 digs), and had a career-high four aces against Manhattan.

- Marist currently holds the top spot in the MAAC standings with a record of 7-1 in conference and 9-10 overall.
- Saint Peter's will try to earn not only their first victory of the year with a current record of 0-8 in-conference and 0-19 overall.

- This will be the second matchup of this season between the two, as the Red Foxes swept Saint Peter's 3-0 on Sept. 30 in Jersey City.
- The Peacocks showed fight in the match, keeping it close in all three sets (25-23, 25-22, 25-19).
- Senior outside hitter and Preseason MAAC player of the year, Sasha van der Merwe recorded 15 kills and four digs. Defending MAAC player of the week, Jordan Newblatt had 11 kills and two aces in the victory.

The senior duo of van der Merwe and Newblatt is having a strong campaign with the second and third, respectively, in points per set in the conference behind Quinnipiac's Ginevra Giovagnoni.

- The Red Foxes will play their next four matches on the road, starting with a trip to western New York.
- Marist will play at Canisius on Saturday at noon, and at Niagara on Sunday at 1.
