POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Marist men's soccer team pulled out a 1-0 win over Quinnipiac. Jørgen Thue Kristiansen's first goal of the season was the difference in the match.

The Red Foxes move to 4-4-3 overall and 2-1-2 in the MAAC.

 

• "An Important and necessary thre points tonight against a talented and coached team. Thought we played a mature first half and grabbed a deserved lead. Things got a bit frantic and disjointed in the second half, but glad we saw it out. Now we look to Fairfield and try to continue a good streak. If we continue to work and celebrated the little things we will have success."

• Marist opened to scoring in the 16th minute via a close-range finish from Jørgen Thue Kristiansen.
• Bernardo Gracindo headed a cross just wide with a minute left in the first half, where Marist led 1-0 at the break.
• In the 46th minute, a second yellow card was assessed to Quinnipiac's Francisco Ferreira, bringing the Bobcats down to ten men.
• A Red Fox goal from Sam Gjokaj was negated in the 65th after an offsides call, keeping Marist's lead at 1.
• Qunnipiac's Noe Cabezas was assessed another red card in the 75th minute, who are were down to 9 men.
• The Red Foxes defeated the Bobcats 1-0.

• Marist outshot the Bobcats 3-1 in the first half.
• Both teams accrued eight fouls in the first half.
• Jørgen Thue Kristiansen scored his first goal of the season.
• There were 10 total yellow cards and three red cards in the match.
• The Red Foxes outshot Quinnipiac 9-2.

• The Red Foxes go on the road to face Fairfield.
