Marist Football Hosts San Diego in PFL Contest

Saturday’s Kickoff Set for Noon at Tenney Stadium

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team (2-3 overall, 2-1 Pioneer Football League) returns to Pioneer Football League play this weekend by hosting San Diego (1-4, 1-1). Saturday's kickoff at Tenney Stadium is set for noon.
 
At the Game
  • Marist is teaming up with Friendly Auto Group, Friendly Acura, and Friendly Honda for this weekend's football tailgate. Free sodas and waters will be handed out on the sidewalk leading up to Tenney Stadium.
  • At halftime, one lucky contestant will have a chance to win $10,000 dollars in an on-field contest (no purchase required), we'll also be handing out Marist rally towels to the first 1,000 in attendance brought to you by @friendlyautogroupny & @k1047

Last Time Out

  • The Toreros are coming off a bye.
  • Marist and San Diego have a common opponent in Davidson. In the Toreros' last outing, they fell at Davidson by a score of 55-33 on Sept. 30.
  • The Toreros were picked to finish fourth in the PFL Preseason Poll. Three Toreros - Re-al Mitchell (all-purpose), Will Buck (defensive line), and Chase Lyons (linebacker) were named Preseason All-PFL.
  • Head coach Brandon Moore is in his first season at the helm, and was named AFCA Division II National Coach of the Year last year.
 
History
  • Marist is 0-15 against San Diego all-time, with an 0-5 mark at Tenney Stadium.
  • This is the first time the teams have met since 2019, and it is the first San Diego-Marist game at Tenney Stadium since 2018.
