Justin Iaccio was named First Team All-Pioneer Football League at the long snapper position, as the league announced its honorees on Tuesday afternoon.
The Red Foxes had three Second Team All-PFL selections: junior left tackle
Ibrahim Giwa, junior nose tackle
Nick Jackson, and red-shirt junior wide receiver
Matt Stianche.
Justin Iaccio
Iaccio earned First Team All-PFL honors at long snapper for the second straight year. He has appeared in all 32 of Marist's games the last three seasons as the Red Foxes' primary long snapper, and he has seen increased action at linebacker throughout his career. He was also named Honorable Mention All-PFL at linebacker. Iaccio was a national semifinalist for the prestigious Campbell Trophy this year.
Ibrahim Giwa
Giwa started 10 games at left tackle, and he has been the team's primary starter at left tackle for two seasons. He helped pave the way for an offense that had eight games with at least 200 yards passing, and four with over 100 yards rushing. On Sept. 30 against Stetson, the Red Foxes amassed 525 yards of total offense (306 rushing, 219 passing) and had a 35:26 time of possession.
Nick Jackson
Jackson led the Red Foxes with seven-and-a-half tackles for loss this season, his second as the Red Foxes' primary starter at nose tackle. He totaled 24 tackles, a fumble recovery, and a sack. In a win over San Diego on Oct. 14, he had five tackles, one-and-a-half stops for loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery. He followed the performance with two tackles for loss at Presbyterian, and two-and-a-half stops for loss at St. Thomas.
Matt Stianche
Stianche led the Red Foxes in receptions (55), receiving yards (803), and receiving touchdowns (seven). He had two touchdowns against Davison on Sept. 16 and Bucknell on Nov. 18. Against Davidson, he had a career-high 161 receiving yards. Stianche had a career-high nine receptions against Bucknell. He had three games with at least 100 receiving yards, and six with over 90.
Additionally, eight Red Foxes were named All-PFL Honorable Mention:
- Iaccio, as a linebacker (46 tackles, four-and-a-half tackles for loss, three sacks)
- Red-shirt junior safety Camron Ball (team-leading 64 tackles, two pass break-ups, one fumble recovery).
- Freshman punter Joe Neubecker (averaged 36.7 yards per punt, dropped 16 punts inside the 20).
- Red-shirt sophomore right guard Dominic Perricone (started all 11 games at right guard after making transition from starting right tackle last season).
- Red-shirt junior running back Tristan Shannon (earned Honorable Mention at the all-purpose position and as a return specialist, with 1,112 all-purpose yards – 637 as a kickoff returner, 257 rushing, 144 receiving, and 74 as a punt returner).
- Graduate cornerback Isaiah Smith (led team with 34 solo tackles and four pass break-ups, tied for the team lead with two interceptions).
- Red-shirt sophomore linebacker Angelo Vokolos (led team with four-and-a-half sacks, also had five-and-a-half tackles for loss and two forced fumbles, named PFL Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 15).
- Red-shirt junior running back Amin Woods (led team with 711 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns, averaged 4.6 yards per carry and had career-high 232 rushing yards against Stetson to earn FedEx Ground FCS Offensive Player of the Week).
