Women's Basketball Ends Road Trip With Loss to Yale

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut - The Marist women's basketball team was defeated 61-45 by Yale on Tuesday night.
 
Recap
QTR 1
  • Kiara Fisher, after missing the previous four games, kicked off the scoring for either team.
  • The teams proceeded to battle throughout the remainder of the quarter with Yale taking the slight edge.
  • The quarter ended 11-8 after Ciara Croker beat the buzzer with a layup.
QTR 2
  • After trading buckets early, Yale proceeded to go on an 11 point streak.
  • Yale continued to control the pace of play throughout the second.
  • Zaria Shazer hit a jumper in the paint to beat the buzzer, closing out the quarter 26-17 for the Bulldogs.
QTR 3
  • Maeve Donnelly scored the first Marist bucket of the third frame with a layup.
  • The Bulldogs were able to extend their lead to as far as 17 during the third.
  • Julia Corsentino closed out the scoring in the quarter, making two free-throws to make the score 44-31.
QTR 4
  • The fourth quarter saw the Red Foxes have their best FG% of the night with .427, hitting six of their 14 attempts.
  • Ciara Croker tallied six points in the fourth frame, she ended the night with a career-high eight points.
  • A jumper by Julia Corsentino was the last bucket scored by either team, ending things with a score of 61-45.
