Marist Falls to Quinnipiac on Senior Night

Gardner Scores Game-High 27 in Regular-Season Finale

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team fell to Quinnipiac, 88-76, on Saturday on Senior Night in the Red Foxes' final game of the regular season.
 
Prior to Patrick Gardner, Stephane Ingo, and Tyler Saint-Furcy, and manager Michael Santos were recognized in the Senior Night ceremony.
 
 
Summary
  • Gardner recorded Marist's first five points, and eight of their first 11.
  • Marist took the lead, 19-18, with 11:25 left after a three from Isaiah Brickner.
  • Quinnipiac went on a 15-2 run over a 2:54 span with 10 of those points coming from junior guard Dezi Jones.
  • Quinnipiac went on another run, scoring 12 straight. A three at the end of the half from Marist's Jaden Daughtry ended the scoring drought. Quinnipiac led 50-34 at halftime.
  • Marist cut its deficit to 11 after an 8-0 run early in the second half with 17:16 to go.
  • Kam Farris kept the game in reach after scoring eight points six minutes into the second half.
  • Quinnipiac made six of its last eight field goals with 11:22 left in the second half to extend their lead to 18 points.    
  • Marist cut the deficit to 10 points after two buckets apiece from Patrick Gardner and Trace Salton with 4:33 left in the game.
  • Luis Kortright hit two free throws to bring Quinnipiac's lead back up to 14 with 1:09 left.

  • Gardner led all scorers with 27 points along with nine rebounds.
  • Noah Harris had seven assists, setting a career high in that category for the second straight game.
