POUGHKEEPSIE, New York –
Patrick Gardner of the Marist men's basketball team has been selected to compete in the Portsmouth Invitational, it was announced Monday afternoon.

This is the 69
th edition of the Portsmouth Invitational, an NBA Pre-Draft camp that consists of the top collegiate seniors in the country. A total of 64 seniors will participate in the event. Eight teams will have eight-man rosters and will play three games each between Wednesday and Saturday. Gardner is the first Red Fox to play in Portsmouth since Chavaughn Lewis in 2015.

Portsmouth Invitational alumni include Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, John Stockton, Tim Hardaway, Ben Wallace, Avery Johnson, Jeremy Lin, Rick Barry, Dave Cowens, and Earl Monroe.

Gardner was named First Team NABC All-District, Second Team All-MAAC, and to the MAAC All-Championship Team in the 2022-23 season. At the end of March, he participated in the State Farm College Team Skills and & 3X3U Championships as well as the Reese's Division I All-Star Game. His total of 631 points this season was the third highest in Marist's 43 years as a Division I program. Gardner, who previously played at Nassau Community College, scored 2,151 collegiate points.
