Softball Extends Winning Streak to Four

Red Foxes Score 11 Straight Runs in Victory Over Cornell

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist softball team earned its fourth straight victory on Wednesday with an 11-4 non-conference triumph over Cornell.
 
Summary
  • Cornell scored four times in the top of the first, which included a three run-homer from Sydney Stapf.
  • In the top of the third, with Cornell still leading 4-0, Calista Phippen came on in relief to pitch out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam.
  • Marist scored twice in the bottom of the fourth. Shea Walsh had an infield RBI single in the inning.
  • Marist took the lead for good with four runs in the fifth. Haley Ahr's two-run double tied the game, and the Red Foxes added two runs on errors.
  • The Red Foxes added five more in the bottom of the sixth. Isabella Manory had a two-run single to close out the scoring.
