POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- The Marist softball and baseball teams excelled on the field and in the classroom during the 2023 season. Five softball and our baseball student-athletes earned College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors.
To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average as an undergraduate, and if applicable, graduate school. The student-athlete must also be of at least sophomore standing academically and athletically while appearing in 50 percent of the team's games for position players or pitching at least 10 innings.
- Infielder, Alyssa Grupp - Junior majoring in communication.
- Right fielder/catcher, Shea Walsh - A senior earning a bachelor's degree in human biology.
- Outfielder, Kaitlyn Husic - A sophomore majoring in psychology and child education.
- Pitcher, Calista Phippen - A graduate student earning a master's degree in software development.
- Pitcher, Kiley Myers - A senior majoring in criminal justice.
This is third career Academic All-District honor for both Phippen and Walsh.
- Catcher, Niko Amory - A graduate student earning a master's degree in integrated marketing communication.
- Left Fielder, Colin Mackle - A senior earning a bachelor's degree in business administration.
- Infielder, Nathan Lincoln - A sophomore majoring in business administration.
- Pitcher, Jack Keenan - A senior earning a bachelor's degree in business administration.
