POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's soccer program announces the addition of six newcomers to its 2023 roster.
 
The newest Red Foxes are Delia Hahn, Kelsey Peduto, Caelan McHugh, Julia Loncar, Sofia Cassano and Emma Deane. The Red Foxes are heading into their first season under the leadership of Head Coach Nicole Pacapelli.
 
"I am excited to have finalized our incoming class for 2023 with a well-rounded mix of freshman, transfers, and graduate students," said Head Coach Nicole Pacapelli. "We have a really enthusiastic group of great players and quality people of elite character who are all ready to put the work in and help us grow on and off the field this fall. We are looking forward to adding some new talent, athleticism, and experience to our Red Fox Family."
 
 

Delia Hahn

Freshman | Midfielder/Forward | 5'7 | Lake Wylie, South Carolina | Charlotte Independence ECNL

• Played Club for Charlotte Independence in the Elite Clubs National League.
• Charlotte Independence team Qualified and competed for ECNL Nationals.
• Selected for the North Carolina 4A All-Conference Team.
• Two-year captain of Charlotte Catholic Highschool Girls Soccer Team.
• Four Year Varsity Player.
• Called up to play on the Charlotte Independence ECNL All-Start Team.
   

Kelsey Peduto

Freshman | Midfielder/Forward | 5'6 | Little Silver, New Jersey | Cedar Stars Monmouth GA

• Helped Red Bank Regional Highschool win their division for the first time in school history.
• Four Year Varsity Player.
• Payer Club for Cedar Stars Monmouth in the Girls Academy League.
• Team Captain and assists leader for Cedar Stars.
• Played for Cedar Stars since the 5^th grade.

 

Caelan McHugh

Red Shirt Freshman Transfer | Midfielder/Forward | 5'7 | Sparkhill, New York | University of Rhode Island

• Played Club for World Class in the Elite Clubs National League; played for World Class since the third grade.
• Captain of high school Academy of Holy Angels and club team.
• New York State ODP Team.
• NJ.com top scoring finalist for 2020.
• Voted as a top 5 senior in New Jersey in 2021.
• Highschool All section and all division three years in a row.
• Highschool MVP back-to-back years, 2020/2021.
• Lead team in goals and assists both Junior and Senior Years.

 

Julia Loncar

Sophomore Transfer | Defender/Midfielder | 5'7 |  Brampton, Ontario, Canada | University of Connecticut

• Played club for Woodbridge soccer club; won ten championships with club team.
• 2017 – 2022 Club team captain.
• 2018 Ontario Provincial Team.
• 2017 – 2020 Ontario Provincial Projects Program.
• Attended Cardinal Leger Secondary School.
• Played in 6 matches for UCONN her freshman year.

 

Sofia Cassano

Senior Transfer | Forward |  5'3 | Schenectady, New York | Bryant University

• Appeared in 30 games as a forward for the Bryant Bulldogs.
• Four Year Varsity Started at Schalmont high school.
• Two Time Highschool First-Team All-Star and All-State Selections.
• Schalmont high school captain.
• Had a Standout high school career with 95 goals and 68 assists totaling 175 points.
• Helped team win sectional championships in 2016, 2017 and 2019.
• Played Club for Albany Alleycats.

 

Emma Deane

Graduate Transfer | Defender | 5'7 | Placentia, California | Oregon State University

• Goalkeeper at Oregon State University from 2018 – 2020 and chose to become a Defender in 2021.
• Played as a defender in the 2021 and 2022 seasons, played in 12 games and started 3.
• Three Time PAC – 12 Academic Honor Roll.
• Chosen as a First team – All League player and Captain for Yorba Linda High School.
• All-Orange County first team player and Century Conference Defensive MVP.
• Played Club for Pateadores USSDA; reached National Cup Semifinals.
