POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Patrick Gardner, who enjoyed a standout 2022-23 season with the Marist men's basketball team, has agreed to terms on a contract with the Brooklyn Nets.

Gardner saw NBA action earlier this month for the Miami Heat's Summer League team. He appeared in four games for the Heat, and shot .500 (6-for-12) from three-point range. In his first appearance of the summer, Gardner had six points and four rebounds in 15 minutes against Sacramento. He closed out play with a 14-point, six-rebound effort against Denver in 15 minutes, which included a 4-for-7 performance from three-point range.

This past season, Gardner was named First Team NABC All-District, Second Team All-Met Basketball Writers Association, Second Team All-MAAC, and to the MAAC All-Championship Team. He ranked in the MAAC's top 10 in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, and blocked shots.

Gardner is currently in Egypt preparing for the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He will be suiting up for the Egyptian National Team. The World Cup opens on Aug. 25 and continues through Sept. 10.
