POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's soccer team begins its 2023 season with a road game against Villanova Thursday, August 17. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
 

2023 Season Preview

• The Red Foxes were picked seventh in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning 50 points.
• Graduate student Samantha Sturno earned Preseason All-MAAC.
  • Sturno is a three-time captain for the women's soccer team, along with being a key defender for the Red Foxes in the backfield. Sturno earned First Team All-MAAC last season. 
• Marist is set to take on six non-conference opponents. Their home opener will be against Cornell on Wednesday, Aug. 30.
• The non-conference matchups will finish on Wednesday, Sept. 13 on the road at Bryant.
• The Red Foxes will open conference play against Rider on Sept. 9.
• The red of the month of September is filled with conference opponents and will close out at the end of October.

 

2022 Season Recap

• Marist's season ends at 5-7-5 overall. The Red Foxes went 3-5 in MAAC regular season play.
• Last season, the Red Foxes were the sixth seed in the MAAC Championship opening round, where they lost to the third seed, Niagara by a score of 3-0.
• Last Season Samanth Sturno was named First Team All-MAAC. Amanda Caldarelli was named to the All-MAAC Second Team and Nicole Colantuono earned All-MAAC Third Team.
