NEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey – The Marist volleyball team was defeated by Rutgers in the Red Foxes' final non-conference match of the season. Despite a valiant effort by the Red Foxes, the Scarlet Knights took the match 3-0.

• The first set saw Marist start strong, leading 16-13. However, a four-point run by Rutgers saw the Scarlet Knights take a 17-16 lead. A service error from Rutgers and a subsequent block assist from Vanessa Zolg and Gabriella Heimbauer saw the Red Foxes take an 18-17 lead.
• The two teams continued to battle with Rutgers eventually taking a hard-fought first set 25-23.
• Despite the Red Foxes taking the first point of the second set, the Scarlet Knights went on a five-point run, securing an early 5-1 lead. Marist battled back within one point due to a Sasha van de Merwe service ace making it 10-9.
• Though the Red Foxes did end up tying it up at 14-14, Rutgers pulled away with the rest of the second set winning 25-19.
• The Scarlet Knights took an early 5-1 lead in third set. Despite the Red Foxes' best efforts, they went on to lose the third set, 25-16.

• Gabriella Heimbauer led the Red Foxes with 13 kills and six digs.
• Jordan Newblatt tallied eight kills and six digs.
• Claire Lewis contributed 25 assists and a team-leading 10 digs.
