Men’s Soccer Falls In Home Match Against Navy

Red Foxes Tallied 17 Shots Against The Midshipmen

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- The Marist men's soccer team returned home for a three-game stretch, Tuesday night. The Red Foxes dropped the first game of the home stand to non-conference opponent Navy 1-0.

Quote From Coach Viggiano
  • "Disappointed we didn't at minimum come out with a point, as I think the guys clearly deserved it. It happens in our game, but we can take the lesson from this game and apply it to conference play. If we clean up our defensive set pieces and be bit more clinical in front of the goal, we will be fine."
  • "We are looking forward to playing for points the rest of the way."

    • Navy countered with two shots of their own in the 15th minute and 19th minute.

  • The Red Foxes continued to push the pace in the second half with two shots in the early minutes.
  • In the late minutes of the match, The Red Foxes tried to even the score with shots in the 78th and 80th minute. Both shots missed the net, and the Midshipmen had a goal kick opportunity.
