POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist volleyball team walked away victorious after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Fairfield on Sunday afternoon. This victory marked the end of a four-game home stand in which the Red Foxes had a record of 3-1. 
 

Recap

• Fairfield struck first after a hotly-contested first set. The Red Foxes battled hard, but eventually dropped the set 25-22.
• In the second set, offense came from throughout the lineup as kills from Sasha van der Merwe and Jordan Newblatt helped the Red Foxes close out the set 25-22.
• Continuing with the back and forth trend of the match, Fairfield took an extremely close third set, 26-24.
• Marist reversed roles with Fairfield in the fourth set, winning it 26-24 after another kill from van der Merwe.
• A kill from Jordan Newblatt ended the fifth set 15-12, and secured the 3-2 match victory for the Red Foxes.

• With her 62 assists, Claire Lewis is now tied sixth in program history for assists in a single-match.
• Sasha van der Merwe tallied a double-double with 23 kills and 14 digs.
• Jordan Newblatt also tallied a double-double with 20 kills and 12 digs.
• Cecilia Potter-Pessoa had 26 digs and 3 service aces.
