Men’s Basketball Cruises Past Rider

Five Red Foxes Score in Double Digits as Marist Tallies Season-High 83 Points

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team earned an 83-60 home victory over Rider in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game on Sunday afternoon at McCann Arena.
 
Summary
  • The Red Foxes led wire-to-wire. After two consecutive baskets by Mervin James cut Marist's lead to 7-6, Josh Pascarelli answered with a three-pointer and layup on back-to-back possession to put Marist back up six.
  • Marist scored the final five points of the half to take a 39-24 lead at the intermission. The Red Foxes held the Broncs scoreless for the final 4:30 of the first half.
  • A 7-0 Rider run early in the second half cut Marist's lead to seven with 17:40 remaining.
  • Marist soon countered with an 8-0 run to go up 17.
  • A 9-0 run, punctuated by a free throw from Max Allen II, gave Marist its first 20-point lead of the game with 6:04 to go.
