Women's Hoops Puts Three-Game Streak on the Line Against Fairfield on Saturday

Red Foxes Set to Battle With First-Place Stags

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist women's basketball team puts its three-game win streak on the line, as the Red Foxes play host to Fairfield on Saturday. Tip-off from McCann Arena is set for 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
 
Last Time Out
  • Redshirt sophomore Lexie Tarul scored a career-high 14 points to push Marist women's basketball past MAAC foe Mount St. Mary's, 45-44, Thursday evening inside Knott Arena.
  • Zaria Shazer added 10 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double, while Morgan Lee contributed eight to help Marist earn its third MAAC victory in a row.
  • Kiara Fisher grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds in the victory.
Light's Out Lexie
  • Redshirt sophomore Lexie Tarul has emerged as of late, knocking down 11 three-pointers over her last five games while shooting a blistering 55.0 percent from beyond the arc.
  • She leads the team with 25 made three-pointers and is tied for 12th in the MAAC in the category.
  • Tarul has made a three-point field goal in 14 of her 16 appearances this season.
  • On the season Tarul is averaging 6.4 points per game and shooting a team-best 36.8 percent from three.
  • Tarul went 4-for-6 from deep en route to scoring 14 points in Marist's victory at Mount St. Mary's on Jan. 18.
  • Tarul's four made three-point field goals and 14 points both set new career-high marks for the Bronx-native.
  • Tarul went three-for-three from deep en route to scoring 11 points in Marist's defeat at Iona on Jan. 6.
Scouting the Stags
  • Fairfield is led by Carly Thibault-Dudonis, who boasts 29 wins in her second season with the Stags.
  • Fairfield enters the matchup at 14-1 on the season and 6-0 in the MAAC.
  • The Stags' lone loss on the season came on Nov. 12, in a 73-70 loss at Vanderbilt.
  • Since that loss, Fairfield has won 12 consecutive games.
  • Fairfield is ranked at No. 11 in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25.
  • The Stags received four votes in this week's AP Top-25 Poll.
  • Fairfield downed Siena at home, 78-73, in its last time out on Jan. 13.
  • The Stags are led by freshman Meghan Anderson, who leads the team in points (17.9), rebounds (6.1), and blocks (1.5) per game.
  • Anderson was named to Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Midseason Watch List.
