Tarul Ties Career High as Red Foxes Fall Short at Iona

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Senior Zaria Shazer tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double while Lexie Tarul added 11 points, but it wasn't enough, as Marist women's basketball came up short on the road against MAAC foe Iona, 70-60, Saturday afternoon inside of the Hynes Athletic Center.

SECOND QUARTER

THIRD QUARTER
After Marist trimmed the deficit to 32-31, the Gaels went on a swift 6-2 run to take a 38-33 lead with 3:39 left in the third quarter at the media timeout. The Gaels stayed hot out of the timeout, closing the frame with a 9-3 run to carry a 47-36 lead into the fourth.

FOURTH QUARTER
The Gaels scored five straight points to open the final period before Marist responded with an 11-2, capped by a Zaria Shazer three-point play and Jackie Piddock three to trim the deficit to seven with just over four minutes to go.
