PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania - Marist women's rowing took its first trip of the Fall 2024 season this past weekend to race at the Navy Day Regatta, hosted by St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA.  Marist entered four Collegiate 4+ crews, 2 Collegiate 8+ crews, and a Collegiate JV8+ crew.
 
It was a perfect fall day on the Schuylkill, made even better by some competitive and fun fall racing.  The team is looking forward to improving each day and are feeling strong going into the remainder of the season. A portion of the team will be competing at the Head of the Charles next weekend, the entire team competing at the Head of the Fish in Saratoga on Halloween Weekend and finishing out the fall at the Heart of the Housatonic, hosted by Sacred Heart University.

First to race were the Varsity 4s in a field of 24 crews. The "A" lineup consisted of coxswain Rebecca Robinson, Summer Starrett, Gabby Insero, Natalie Ronan, and Kaleigh Tompkins. They finished in 8th place with a time of 16:29.96.
 
The "B" lineup consisted of coxswain Grace Foley, Amelia Nelson, Megan McGowan, Sophie Forster, and Kora Eckelman. They finished 14th with a time of 17:06.08.
 
The "C" lineup consisted of coxswain Brooke Dini, Abby Deane, Lillian Iannaccone, Rebecca Paul, and Emily Liguori. They finished 11th with a time of 16:55.56.

The "D" lineup consisted of coxswain Cara Orcutt, Samantha Stortz, Katie Beichert, Nora Messer, and Jennifer Liguori. They finished 20th with a time of 17:49.98.

The fleet of fours were followed by Collegiate JV8+. Th lineup consisted of coxswain Juliette Savarino, Jessica Zygmunt, Shelby McDougall, Anna Fedders, Jenna Jaffe, Stella McGinty, Lilly Green, Sydney Macchia, and Elisa Huget. They finished 8th in a field of 13 crews with a time of 16:54.18.

After resting from the morning races, the day wrapped up with two Collegiate 8+ crews. They competed in a field of 24 crews. The "A" lineup consisted of coxswain Ariana Novero, Gabby Insero, Summer Starrett, Lillian Iannaccone, Sophie Forster, Kora Eckelman, Natalie Ronan, Kaleigh Tompkins, and Abby Deane. They finished 14th with a time of 16:17.99.

The "B" lineup consisted of coxswain Carina Pascucci, Amelia Nelson, Megan McGowan, Samantha Stortz, Katie Beichert, Caitlin Bartman, Jennifer Liguori, Rebecca Paul, and Emily Liguori. They finished in 14th with a time of 16:37.34.
