Football Hosts Valparaiso on Homecoming & Reunion Weekend

Red Foxes, Beacons Kick off at Noon Saturday at Tenney Stadium

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team returns home to host Valparaiso on Homecoming & Reunion Weekend at Marist. Kickoff is set for noon.
 
HOW TO FOLLOW
  • Geoff Brault (play-by-play), Steve Eggink (analyst), and William Rosen (sideline) will have the call on ESPN+.
  • Game updates will be available on X via Marist Football (@Marist_FBall).
 
SEAN STELLATO DAY
  • Marist will be celebrating Sean Stellato Day on Saturday.
  • Sean is a 2002 Marist graduate who played both football and basketball in his time at Marist. He was the Red Foxes' leader in touchdown receptions in the 2000 and 2001 seasons.
  • He currently owns and operates Stellato Sports, a representation and marketing firm.
  • At halftime, students will present him with a framed replica of his Marist football jersey.
  • A limited number of fans attending Saturday's game will also receive a special Marist-branded fedora.
 
MARIST IN THE PFL
  • Marist is 58-58 all-time in PFL play, having joined the league in 2009. Marist is 9-13 in September, 32-24 in October, 17-20 in November, and 0-1 in December.
  • Marist is 28-31 at home, and 30-27 on the road in PFL play.
  • Marist won a share of the PFL championship in 2013.
 
SEASON STATS
  • Marist has had fewer penalties and penalty yards than its opponent in all seven games. Marist's average of 37.0 penalty yards per game ranks ninth in the FCS.
  • Marist is tied for fourth in the FCS with just one fumble lost this season.
  • Marist has blocked a kick in each of the last two weeks (Conor Fitzgibbon, blocked punt vs. St. Thomas; Jordan Mendoza, blocked field goal at San Diego).
  • Mohamed Diawara ranks fourth in the PFL in yards per reception (17.9).
  • Jackson Conners-McCarthy is tied for third in the PFL in receptions (33).
 
ABOUT VALPARAISO
  • The Beacons are coming off a 42-14 home loss to St. Thomas last week.
  • Valparaiso was picked to finish 10th in the PFL Preseason Coaches' Poll, with defensive lineman Sam Hafner named Preseason All-PFL.
  • Punter Sam Johnson is averaging a league-best 47.0 yards per kick, and kicker Ryan Hawk is second in the league with eight field goals made (in 11 tries).
  • Head coach Landon Fox is in his sixth season.
 
HISTORY VS. VALPARAISO
  • This is the 13th all-time meeting between the Red Foxes and Beacons.
