Men’s Swim & Dive’s Conable Sets School Record On Day One Of Patriot Invitational

As A Team, The Red Foxes Finish Third On Day One Of Invitational

FAIRFAX, Virginia- The Marist men's swim and dive team completed the first day of competition at the Patriot Invite, Thursday night. Red Foxes James Conable set the Marist school record in the 200-yard IM, as the Red Foxes finished third.

Record Breaking Conable
  • James Conable broke the Marist school record in the 200-yard IM finals on day one of competition.
  • Conable swam his way to a time of 1:47.13 in the finals, which led to a first-place finish for the Red Foxes.
  • Conable adds another broken record to his dominant 2024 season, after breaking the NJIT pool record in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:48.88.
  
Notable Finishes
  • The Red Foxes had 17 athletes compete in the finals of day one of competition.
  • The Red Foxes A relay team placed six out of 12 teams to begin the finals. The relay team consisting of Adrian Bankowski, Tim Engel, Dane Dillenback, and Mason DeLisio swam to a time of 1:22.12.
  • Adam Zaremba led the Red Foxes in the 500-yard freestyle for the Red Foxes. Zaremba swam his way to a 10th place finish out of 24 swimmers with a time of 4:34.15.
    • The next finisher for the Red Foxes, Oscar Bjering, placed 12th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:34.59.
  • Caden Hardy finished eighth in the 200-yard IM final for the Red Foxes. Hardy swam to a time of 1:50.90 in the sixth event of the finals.
  •  In the 50-yard freestyle, Mason DeLisio finished with the fastest time for the Red Foxes which was good for a seventh-place finish. DeLisio swam to a time of 20.59 in the race.
  • To finish the first day of competition, the Red Foxes A relay team placed fifth in the 400-yard medley relay. The team consisting of Quinn Smith, Caden Hardy, Kellen Fletcher, and Adrian Bankowski swam to a time of 3:18.74.
