Men’s Swim & Dive Place Fourth After Two Days Of Competition At Patriot Invitational

Conable Finishes With Second-Place Finish In 400-Yard IM

FAIRFAX, Virginia- The Marist men's swim team concluded its second day of competition at the Patriot Invitational, Friday evening. James Conable recorded the highest finish among the Red Foxes, finishing second overall in the 400-yard IM finals.

  • "We had a great day starting with the morning session all the way through the finals. The highlight had to be April's 100-yard breast, setting a new school record. We're starting to feel the toll it takes to be at a three day meet competing and cheering on teammates, but I'm confident we'll wake up tomorrow ready to go."

Notable Finishes
  • The Red Foxes A relay team started off hot in the 200-yard medley relay. The team consisting of Quinn Smith, Caden Hardy, Kellen Fletcher, and Mason DeLisio placed fifth overall with a time of 1:29.99.
  • Kellen Fletcher led the Red Foxes in the 100-yard butterfly with a dominant swim. Fletcher placed seventh overall with an impressive time of 48.71.
  • James Conable continued his dominant performance in the Patriot Invitational with a second-place finish in the 400-yard IM. Conable swam his way to an impressive time of 3:54.99 in the event.
    • Hunter Emerson also swam a dominant race in the 400-yard IM. Emerson placed fifth overall in the event, swimming to an impressive time of 4:01.43.
    • Kevin McNamara also swam an impressive race, finishing eighth overall. McNamara swam his way to a time of 4:12.65.
  • Oscar Bjering finished the highest of the Red Foxes in the 200-yard freestyle. Bjering finished in ninth with an impressive time of 1:40.21.
  • Caden Hardy dominated in the 100-yard breaststroke, placing fifth overall in the finals. Hardy swam to a time of 55.30 in the event for the Red Foxes.
    • Dylan Magda finished 10th overall in the event for the Red Foxes. Magda swam his way to a time of 56.28 in the event.
  • Quinn Smith secured another top-five finish for the Red Foxes in the 100-yard backstroke.  Smith finished fifth overall, swimming to a time of 49.80 in the 24th event of the invitational.
