BETHLEHEM, PA – Marist women's basketball returns to action over the weekend, as the Red Foxes will take part in the Lehigh City Classic, hosted by the Mountain Hawks.

Marist's opening game on Saturday and the championship contest will be broadcast on ESPN+ from Stabler Arena.

 

CHRISTMAS CITY CLASSIC BREAKDOWN

• Marist opens the Christmas City Classic by taking on hosts Lehigh on Saturday at noon.
• Meanwhile, North Dakota will take on Valpo in the other tournament matchup immediately following Marist's contest vs. Lehigh.
• The winners of each matchup will play in the championship on Sunday at 2:30 p.m., while the losers from the first matchups will play each other on Sunday at noon in the consolation game.

LAST TIME OUT

• Redshirt Junior Lexie Tarul scored a team-high 14 points to lead Marist women's basketball past Yale, 67-65, in a nail-biter inside McCann Arena on Tuesday evening.
• Junior Morgan Lee totaled 13 points, five rebounds, and three blocks.
• Freshman Danielle Williamsen grabbed a career-high eight rebounds and added seven points, sinking both free throw attempts in the final seconds to secure the home victory over the Bulldogs.

• Marist is 3-0 in games where they score at least 60 points.
• The Red Foxes are 2-0 in games where they have made 10 or more three-pointers.

• Maddie Albrecht leads the Mountain Hawks with 16.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game

HISTORY VS LEHIGH

• Saturday's contest against Lehigh will mark Marist's eighth contest against the Mountain Hawks.
• The Red Foxes are 3-4 all-time against the Mountain Hawks and are averaging 60.7 points per game in the series.
• Marist has won two of the last three contests against Lehigh.

• The Beacons are led in scoring by Neveah Jackson (15.3 ppg) and Leah Earnest (13.7 ppg).

• If the Red Foxes take on the Beacons on Sunday, then it will be the first ever meeting between the two programs.

SCOUTING THE FIGHTING HAWKS

• North Dakota is led by Mallory Bernhard, who has totaled 47 wins in five seasons at the helm of the program.
• North Dakota is 2-3 on the season entering the weekend tournament.
• The Fighting Hawks enter the weekend riding a three-game losing streak and came up short on the road in its last time out against Western Kentucky, 74-69, this past Sunday.
• North Dakota is averaging 66.8 points per game, while shooting 41.9% from the field and 27.8% from deep.
• The Fighting Hawks have three players that average double figures in points on the season in Kiera Pemberton (15.6 ppg), Mikayla Aumer (14.0 ppg), and Jocelyn Schiller (10.6 ppg)
