POUGHKEEPSIE, New York — In th eMetro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Friday night, the Marist men's basketball team won 53-50 against Mount St. Mary's at McCann Arena.

- Jaden Daughtry scored first for the Red Foxes with a three-pointer less than one minute into the contest to lead 3-2.
- Jackson Price made a layup and the following possession connected from beyond the arc to give Marist a 8-4 lead at the 18:12 mark.
- With 9:34 left in the first half the score was tied at 18-18.
- Josh Pascarelli hit a three-pointer with nine seconds remaining in the half to give the Red Foxes the lead 31-29, which remained the score at half time.
- Marist shot 13-for-30 (.433) from the field in the first half, while Mount St. Mary's shot 12-for-24 (.500).
- Marist shot 5-for-12 (.417) from three-point range in the first half, while Mount St. Mary's shot 2-for-6 (.333).
- Marist held the lead for 13:05 of the first half.
- Pascarelli led all players with 13 points after 20 minutes of play.

- Jadin Collins-Roberts completed a driving layup to extend the Red Foxes lead to 36-31 at the 16:30 mark.
- Collins-Roberts drilled a three-pointer on the following possession to give Marist an eight-point lead, their largest of the game.
- During the following 4:05, the Mountaineers would go a 9-2 run to cut the deficit to 41-40.
- With 9:18 left Mount St. Mary's went ahead 45-44, this was their first lead of the half.
- Price scored a layup and completed the three-point play to put the Red Foxes back on top 51-49 with 3:52 remaining.
- Daughtry pushed Marist's lead to 53-49 by finishing the dunk with 37 seconds left.
- Marist would go on to win the game 53-50 as Mount missed a couple of tries on its final possession.
