Women's Basketball Heads to Fairfield for Thursday Morning MAAC Matchup

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist women's basketball team continues MAAC play on Thursday, as the Red Foxes travel to take on conference foe Fairfield. Tip-off from Leo D. Mahoney Arena is set for 11 a.m. on ESPN+.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Zaria Shazer and Catie Cunningham tallied a double-double apiece to lead Marist women's basketball in its loss against Siena at home, 71-67, Saturday evening inside McCann Arena.
  • Shazer totaled 23 points and 10 rebounds in the contest.
  • Cunningham notched 12 points and 14 rebounds.
  • Lexie Tarul contributed nine points, four rebounds and three assists.
 
DOUBLE-DOUBLE QUEENS
  • Zaria Shazer and Catie Cunningham have combined for four double-doubles over Marist's last two games
  • Over the last two games, Cunningham is averaging 12.0 points and 15.5 rebounds per game, while Shazer is averaging 18.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
  • Cunningham posted 12 points and 17 rebounds against Quinnipiac on Feb. 1, before tallying 12 points and 14 rebounds vs. Siena on Feb. 3

  • Fairfield is led by Carly Thibault-Dudonis, who boasts 34 wins in her second season with the Stags.
  • Fairfield enters the matchup at 19-1 on the season and 11-0 in the MAAC.
  • The Stags' lone loss on the season came on Nov. 12, in a 73-70 loss at Vanderbilt.
  • Since that loss, Fairfield has won 17 consecutive games.
  • Fairfield is ranked at No. 9 in the Jan. 30 edition of CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25.
  • The Stags received 21 votes in this week's AP Top-25 Poll.
  • Fairfield downed Iona at home, 85-49, in its last time out on Feb. 3.
  • The Stags are led by freshman Meghan Anderson, who leads the team in points (17.3), rebounds (5.5), and blocks (1.3) per game.
  • Anderson was named to Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Midseason Watch List.
