POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's basketball defeated first-place Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rival Fairfield 58-55 Friday night in front of 2,301 fans in a Red Out at McCann Arena.

Summary

Fairfield opened up scoring with a layup, but the Red Foxes responded with four straight points.
Jackson Price's dunk at 13:35 put Marist ahead 8-6.
A pair of layups by Price and Josh Pascarelli tied the game at 13.
Javon Cooley's three-point play ended a 7-0 run by the Stags, leading the Red Foxes back within four.
A 9-0 run gave Fairfield their largest lead of the game at 13 points.
Timely three-pointers by Pascarelli and Jaden Daughtry put Marist back within seven heading into the half, with Fairfield taking a 29-22 lead to the locker room
Marist continued to cut into the deficit in the first minutes of the second half, capped off with an Allen layup, trailing by just one point with 17:17 left

Daughtry put Marist ahead for the first time in the second half at 8:50, nailing a 3-pointer, his second on the night.
At 5:57, Pascarelli drove in the paint, securing a layup and Marist's largest lead of the night at 53-45.
Jadin Collins made a blistering block to halt the brewing Fairfield offense.
Leading by just three in the last minute, Allen II hit two pressure-packed free throws to aid the Red Foxes with a five-point lead.
The Stags were back within three points with 40 seconds left, but Marist held Fairfield scoreless on its final possession to secure the victory.
