Men’s Basketball Hosts Niagara on Senior Day

Winner of Saturday Afternoon’s Contest Earns Bye in MAAC Championship

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team closes out the regular season on Saturday afternoon at McCann Arena. The Red Foxes (16-12 overall, 11-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) host Niagara (15-14, 11-8) at 2 p.m.

Senior Day
  • Marist will honor three seniors on Saturday: Javon Cooley, Kam Farris, and manager Joey Viner. Cooley is a four-year member of the program. Farris and Viner – who were classmates at Rice Memorial High School in Vermont – are both in their second year with the program.
  • The pre-game ceremony is scheduled to start at 1:44 p.m.

Scenarios
  • If Marist wins, the Red Foxes will be seeded third in the MAAC Championship if Quinnipiac defeats Saint Peter's.
    • The Red Foxes will play their first game at 6:30 p.m. Thursday against the winner of Tuesday's 6/11 game. Niagara will be seeded sixth if Marist wins. The 11 seed will be Siena unless the Saints win and Manhattan loses on Saturday. If that occurs, Manhattan will be #11.
  • If Marist wins and Saint Peter's defeats Quinnipiac, the Red Foxes will be the fourth seed. Marist would then play its first game at 9 p.m. Thursday against fifth-seeded Rider.
  • If Marist loses, the Red Foxes will be seeded sixth.
    • The Red Foxes will face the #11 seed, which will be Siena unless the Saints win and Manhattan loses on Saturday. If that occurs, Manhattan will be #11.
    • This game would occur at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.
