Red Foxes Wrap Regular Season at Quinnipiac on Saturday

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Marist women's basketball team looks to continue to build momentum entering the postseason, as the Red Foxes travel to take on MAAC rival Quinnipiac in the regular season finale on Saturday in Hamden. Tip-off from M&T Bank Arena is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Catie Cunningham scored the game-winning basket, while Morgan Lee scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Marist women's basketball team past Manhattan at home, 49-48, Thursday evening inside McCann Arena.
  • Lee led the Red Foxes with a career-high 20 points and added nine rebounds to go along with three blocks as well.
  • Cunningham added 11 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double of her own.
  • Ciara Croker added 10 points and eight rebounds from off the bench.
  
MARVELOUS MORGAN
  • Sophomore forward Morgan Lee has come along this season, averaging 6.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.
  • Lee's 33 blocks and 1.1 blocks per game is tops on the team and ranks fourth in the MAAC in both categories.
  • 25 of her 33 blocks have come during MAAC play.
  • Her 1.2 blocks per game in MAAC play slots her third in the conference.
  • She's reached double-figure point totals in three of her last six games.
  • She tallied a career-high 20 points and added nine rebounds and three blocks to lead Marist past Manhattan on March 7.
  • She scored 12 points against Siena on Feb. 29.
  • Lee scored a career-high 14 points against Niagara on Feb. 17, becoming the first player in program history to shoot 100 percent from the field (min. 5 attempts) since Alana Gilmer went 9-for-9 against Niagara on Jan. 11, 2020..
 
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
  • Quinnipiac is led by Tricia Fabbri, who boasts 514 wins in her 29th season with the Bobcats.
  • Quinnipiac enters the matchup at 11-17 on the season and 8-11 in the MAAC.
  • The Bobcats have lost six of their last seven contests.
  • Quinnipiac downed Iona in New Rochelle, 72-68, in its last time out this past Thursday.
  • Anna Foley leads the Bobcats in scoring (13.7 ppg) rebounding (7.3 rpg), assists (3.0 apg), steals (1.1 spg) and blocks (1.0 bpg).
 
HISTORY VS QUINNIPIAC
  • Saturday's contest against Quinnipiac will mark Marist's 27th contest against the Bobcats.
  • The Red Foxes are 7-19 all-time against the Bobcats and average 61.4 points per game in the series.
  • Marist is 3-8 all-time on the road against Quinnipiac.
  • Quinnipiac has won each of the last six contests against Marist. 
  • The last time the two sides faced off, Quinnipiac came away with a 64-62 overtime victory over Marist in Poughkeepsie on Feb. 1, 2024.
  • Zaria Shazer led Marist with 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double in the loss.
  • Catie Cunningham added 12 points and 17 rebounds for a double-double as well.
