CHERRY HILL, New Jersey - Marist women's rowing traveled to Cherry Hill, NJ's Cooper River Park this past weekend to compete at the Knecht Cup. Marist boated a 1V8, 2V8, V4, and 2V4. Due to unsafe launching conditions, Saturday's heats and semi-finals were cancelled and a condensed schedule of heats and finals was released for Sunday.
The Varsity 8 consisted of coxswain
Ariana Novero,
Summer Starrett,
Ashley Surette,
Natalia Miklos,
Gabrielle Insero,
Avalon Johnson,
Kaleigh Tompkins,
Natalie Ronan, and
Isabel Consavari. This crew was in a tight race with MIT and Sacred Heart for the length of the course, but came up short in the end, finishing 3rd.

The 2nd Varsity 8 consisted of coxswain
Carina Pascucci,
Nora Messer, Kora Eckelman,
Lillian Iannaccone,
Katie Beichert,
Abby Deane, Maria Belfakih,
Rebecca Paul, and Jen Ligouri. This crew was unable to hit their ideal rhythm, but was successful in holding off their MAAC opponent Fairfield, placing them 3rd in the heat, behind BU Lightweight and UConn.

The Varsity 4 consisted of coxswain
Rebecca Robinson, Jess Zygmunt,
Jenna Jaffe,
Samantha Stortz, and Emily Ligouri. This crew had a great race in their heat, placing them first and earned themselves a spot in the Grand Final in the afternoon.
FINAL RESULTS: Marist 8:12.28, Fordham 8:23.00, BU LWT 8:26.93, Monmouth 8:35.48, George Mason 8:44.72
In the final, this crew was unable to settle into the strong rhythm they had in the morning, and fell short, still proud of the work they put in to get there.

The 2nd Varsity 4 consisted of coxswain
Juliette Savarino,
Shelby McDougall,
Megan McGowan,
Sydney Macchia, and
Lilly Green. This crew fought hard with BU and Jacksonville throughout the race, but were unable to successfully execute their sprint, placing them 3rd.
