WORCESTER, Massachusetts - The Marist Men's Rowing Team competed in their final regular season race of the 2024 season today in Worcester, MA. The team raced in a dual race with Boston University, Temple, Holy Cross, and Hobart College. 3 Boats Raced; the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd varsity eights.
The Marist Varsity Eight consisted of Kayla Lewis (cox),
Gavin Crouch (stroke), Holden Kopscik (7),
Connor Tandy (6),
Nolan Libby (5),
Axel Anderegg-Durwood (4),
Tristan Wistuba (3),
Thomas Graves (2), Liam Klemm (bow). The boat had a poor start but the early strokes of the race were good and after the first 500m the crew from BU had moved out to an early lead while Temple and Holy Cross stayed close to them. Marist and Hobart remained close together but behind the pace of the other two crews. As the middle 1000m went by The boats gradually fanned out with BU pulling away, Holy Cross gradually distancing themselves from Temple and Marist gradually falling back from Hobart. The final margin of the race was BU winning in 5:56 with Holy Cross at 6:03, Temple at 6:08, Hobart at 6:15 and Marist at 6:23.
The Marist 2nd Varsity Eight Consisted of
Matthew Wright (cox),
Evan Brown, (stroke),
James Hadjandreas (7),
Peter Martinich (6),
Andrew Davis (5),
Matthew Roscoe (4), Nolan Keane (3),
Mason Roy (2), Adam Wittman (bow). This transpired along essentially the same lines as the V8 race. BU moved out to an early lead this time it was Temple's turn to take command over Holy Cross in the final meters and Hobart and Marist a distant 4th and 5th. BU won in a time of 5:59, Temple at 6:08, Holy Cross at 6:11, Hobart at 6:20, and Marist at 6:27.
The Marist 3rd Varsity Eight consisted of
Tessa Kurtzman (cox),
Drew Ngo (stroke), Dylan Kresge (7), Zak Schwarz (6), Caden Todd (5), Pedro Guitian (4), James Hall (3), Mason Lockowitz (2), and Mattias Topping (bow). The 3v race was a match of the first race with only the margins of the crew being more spread out. BU won the race in a time of 6:07, Holy Cross at 6:19, Temple at 6:22, Hobart at 6:39 and Marist at 6:59.

Overall a tough day again very tough competition. The team returns to re-set before our conference championships in 3 weeks
